Individual and team competitions provide a fantastic opportunity for dancers to showcase their hard work, build confidence, and experience the joy of performing for an audience.
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITIONS
Interclub Competitons
Throughout the year, we participate in two Interclubs – friendly practice competitions with other clubs. Every competitor at Interclubs receives a certificate and a medal, celebrating their effort and progress.
Club Competition
We also host an annual club competition, where girls can perform alongside their friends and watch fellow dancers from our club showcase their skills. With perpetual club awards and age group champions up for grabs, this event is all about celebrating club spirit and the camaraderie of our Physie community.
Champion Girl
Juniors - Ages 5-12 years
BJP divides all clubs across Australia into zones, and we are part of the Pennant Hills Zone. Girls who place in the top 5 of their age group (6 years and up) will qualify for the Junior National Finals at Homebush in November. Competitors who reach the final but don’t place in the top 5 are eligible to compete in the Junior National Repechage, where they’ll have another chance to qualify by placing in the top 5 against other zone finalists.
Seniors - 13 years to Open Seniors
Across Australia, all girls aged 13 and up compete at Champion Girl in Homebush each November, a prestigious national competition. Each dancer competes in a heat, and if successful, may be selected for the semi-finals. Those who make it to the final will compete on the iconic stage of the Sydney Opera House during the “Night of Nights”. This evening showcases the best of the best from each age group, with the top 5 placed in each section, and the Overall Grand Champion Girl crowned.
Champion Lady
Novice, Intermediate, Under 33's, and Over 33's compete at the Zone level, with top placers advancing to Nationals at Homebush. Masters (including Over 40’s, Over 50’s, Over 60’s, and Over 70’s) compete directly at the National level, where they are placed at the competition.

TEAM COMPETITIONS
Our annual Team Competitions are held in November at the Homebush State Sports Centre, where teams from across Australia come together to showcase their hard work. Team competitions focus on perfect timing and coordination as dancers perform the BJP syllabus.
Each team consists of 8 girls from the same age group, representing their club. If selected, girls and ladies are expected to fully commit, attending classes, giving their best effort, and supporting their teammates. Team members will be supplied with matching BjP leotards/performance wear.
